A former Marshall football player who accused ex-coach Bob Pruett of several NCAA violations now says several of those statements are not true. Former linebacker Charles Tynes is backing off his sworn affidavit that said Pruett promised to find him a job, a NCAA violation, and then directed him to lie about his salary to the NCAA.

A lawsuit is alleging that former Marshall University football coach Bob Pruett knew about academic fraud among his players -- and even encouraged them to take a class where Pruett said they would be sure to receive an “A”. The lawsuit also alleges that Pruett told his players to sign an affidavit that lied to the NCAA.
